    -It was popularized by the American writer Upton Sinclair in the 1900s. Sinclair practiced juice cleansing and fasting at the same time.
    -Intermittent fasting is not a diet plan but an eating pattern. With I.F., you don’t starve but still have to eat and drink, but it should be time-restricted. It’s not dangerous for you because it doesn’t leave you with no food at all for long periods of time.
    -You can try out one of the patterns: the 16:8 pattern, the 5:2 pattern, “Eat Stop Eat", Alternate day fasting, and The Warrior Diet.
    -Over the course of time, your body will eventually overcome the side effects. In the fasting period, your body will get the energy from burning fat. The longer you fast, the more fat is burned in the process.
    -It can prevent type 2 diabetes and promote insulin resistance. It is good for the heart. It may prevent cancer. It improves brain function.
    -Children and teens, people with diabetes, low blood pressure, underweight, pregnant, breastfeeding, or people trying to conceive should consult a doctor before trying it out.
    -You should also remember that you can’t lose weight through intermittent fasting alone. It is also safe to exercise while fasting , but it takes time to adjust to it. Sacrifices must be made: saying goodbye to your favorite greasy foods or not eating from time to time.

I haven’t consistently done I.F. yet, but when I was doing it a few months back, I was waking up a lot less bloated. That was with eating between 11am-8pm I bet the results would be amazing if you’re eating clean too! Definitely consider giving something like this a try!

Im doing 16-8 i.f. but i stopped when i had to take in antibiotics and meds because it requires full stomach. Back on i.f again. From 75, now down to 68. A few exercise would also help. Its easy. 8 hours sleep+ 4 hours no meal before sleep and 4 hours no meal upon waking up, just tea.

You can not have anything other than water during your fast. If you have tea or coffee your body has to metabolize it which spikes your insulin and breaks your fast. I made this mistake and Plateaued. After learning this fact the wall crumbled.

A friend told me she lost the pounds she wanted to with IF, but when I tried it, I just felt sick from eating so much at once, or a headache from eating so little throughout the day. I had much better luck keeping meals small and healthy, then discontinuing eating before I'm full so that I could get that weird feeling of thinking you're still hungry but then waiting till you're actually not. In other words, 'always leaving from the table wanting a little bit more.' :)

Dr Bert Herring wrote a book called "The Fast-5 diet and the Fast-5 lifestyle" more than a decade ago. He published it in 2005. It wasn't Michael Mosley that "invented" intermittent fasting. Plus your details aren't really correct. You need to do more research. Or maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention and missed something...

I.F helped me loose weight. Sacrifices need to be made for results to show. I've not ate any chocolate or sugar since March this year and now my body really doesn't miss or crave sugar. The first few weeks are the hardest but if you get past the PAIN then you will start to see the GAIN.

Best way to start intermittent fasting is to go on the keto diet first for a couple of weeks. It adjusts your body to running on ketone bodies and removes your cravings and appetite. From there, it's WAY easier to leap into a fast. It would be horrible to try to jump into a fast from a carb based diet. You'd go mad with hunger, cravings, energy crash, and mood swings.

I’m on IF right now. Lost 40 lbs in about 5 months. 30 of those lbs were in a month doing OMAD. In my adult life, I’m currently 37, I’ve never been this shredded before. Well actually the only other time was during 2004-2005 timeframe but replicating war time conditions isn’t gonna happen and I’m sure not recommended lol! I’ve been in a unit that ran everyday of the week (late teens to early 20s). I’ve been on a rugby teams that did a lot of conditioning and HIIT style training (mid to late 20s). Neither have ever gotten me this ripped. I’m definitely a believer

Good intro to IF itself. But to be even healthier - slowly ( over a period of months ) change what you’re eating. Eat a lot more veggies for a week. Then in week two, while still eating more veggies, slowly eat less and less processed foods ( anything with Sugar and/or Carbs should eventually be removed from your diet. ) Also healthy fats ( like nuts, avocado, ghee & coconut butter ) are great for the body & brain - plus they stop hunger for long periods of time. Meat ? I go organic and a max of only 6 oz per day. By month three you should still be IF’ing and eating much healthier. Not only is this healthy for the body, but may prevent Alzheimer’s. ( Lots of info on that here on YouTube. ) Anyway this isn’t a ‘diet’ - it’s a permanent way of living. What has worked for you ?

I am 63 years young, and I along with my husband started Intermittent Fasting in the beginning of February this year. In 8.5 months I shed 56 lbs., and my husband shed 47 lbs. We experienced lots of energy, since I do not work outside the home, I can fast from 16 to 20 hours, depending on my desire on any given day. I do drink lots of water as well as Green Tea and once in awhile coffee. During the period when I eat I either eat one or two meals daily. I have always been a structured person, so I journal what I eat and I do portion control. You don't have to count calories, journal or do portion control, whatever floats your boat. Since my husband works he does Intermittent Fasting for 12 hours, and he begins eating early and his period of eating he will eat a light breakfast and somedays only drinks water for lunch, then we cook and we eat at the same time and somedays we finish eating at 4 or 5 PM and then we do not eat anything after we finish with supper. We will have water, tea or coffee, but mostly water. We both find that we are not hungry during our fasting time, if we do feel peckish, we will drink water, but generally we fast throughout the night with no problem. This is definitely a lifestyle and not a diet, and we can eat whatever we like within our eating window which sometimes for me can be 4 to 8 hours, depending if I fast longer and push up my eating window. I have tried many diets, and been disappointed, and I have never shed as much weight as I have now practicing Intermittent Fasting. We feel healthier and more energetic! Seems to me no matter what you do it has to be consistent. Everyone has their own method, what to eat and when to eat... yet it seems like you never get the effect unless you keep that same pattern so your digestive system gets use to it.

Yes, it is working for me. It took a while to get used to it but now it feels normal. I eat one normal meal a day and snack on a fresh veggie and a few nuts or seeds twice a day.

I have been on the warrior diet for 2 weeks and lost 18 pounds. Walking 7-12 miles a day and for dinner I would eat around 500-1100 calorie dinner. I would cook chicken, tuna and every other day eat pasta or something that would give me a good amount of carbs to go for a late night jog😀. But you need to drink lots of water(around 12-16 cups in my opinion). I'm 5'11 17 years old weight of 215 and I plan to keep going till I'm at 195. So from my experience yes this does work its like magic.😊

The one that only really work is OMAD LEGUME DIET the LEGUMES ARE SLOW CARB which is hundred times better then carbs like rice,pasta potatoe Legumes are beans ,kidney beans LENTILS BLACK.BEANS AND GARBANZO (cheekpeas)are the best legumes veggies (Broccoli,spinach,cabbage cucumbers) mix that with cooked lentils or black beans and a very small cup of pasta or rice preferably one medium sized boiled potatoe majority of omad meal days a boiled potatoe without oil spice it with garlic onions

Back in the early 80's when I was a teenager I used to eat once a day. I'd get up, go to school, come home, go to work on a dairy farm and get off around 9 or 10 at night. I'd go home eat a huge dinner and go to bed and repeat... I was 5' 2" tall and weighed 110 lbs. from my freshman year to my senior year. Right after graduating from high school and quitting my dairy farm job, I started working at a restaurant. I began eating regular meals throughout the day and in a few short months I went from 110 lbs to 190 lbs... At 5' 2" tall I was huge!! Never been able to go back to my 110 lbs again. The closest I came was back in 2006 when I dropped to 129 lbs. Now, I'm back to 180 lbs. I'm going to give my high school years eating habit a try and see what happens.
